Islamic group puts a hit out for Molly Norris

Molly Norris is the Seattle cartoonist that instigated “Everybody Draw Muhammad Day.” Now an Islamic terrorist group has put a hit out Norris. Norris conceived “Everybody Draw Muhammad Day” as a Facebook-fueled protest for free speech in response to Comedy Central censorship of a South Park episode that confronted to depict the prophet Muhammad. This event got to large and out of control that numerous Muslim’s took it as personal hatred towards their people. Norris pulled the plug and apologized, but that was not enough to stay off the hit list on an Islamic terrorist site..

Anwar al-Awlaki wants Molly Norris murdered

Regardless of your own religious beliefs, Muslim law give authorization and encouragement for any person to be murdered who depicts the Prophet Mohammad in a drawing of any sort. It is strictly against Islamic law to draw Mohammad. By creating the, Everybody Draw Muhammad Day, terrorist leader Anwar al-Awlaki, made it his personal goal to see to it Norris is slaughtered. The New York Daily News reports that Anwar al-Awlaki has also been cited as inspiring the Fort Hood, Tex., massacre, also as the plot by two New Jersey men to kill U.S. soldiers. In an Al Qaeda magazine, Inspire, Anwar al-Awlaki was quoted as calling her a “prime target” whose “proper adobe is hellfire.” Muslim terrorists are a very severe threat as outlined by the FBI, and they have made Norris aware of the publications and threats about her.

Those marked for death by al-Awlaki should take caution

Norris has already presented an apology to the Muslim individuals, and called the event off. Even though, Everybody Draw Muhammad Day, became very inappropriate and offensive, she stated that, that was not her intent. The website that published her death mark is used to recruit American Muslims for Jihad, and despite her apology they’re still out to slaughter her. She is not the only one being targeted for drawing Muhammad, a Danish cartoonist, Kurt Westergaard, is also on their list. In February, he and his granddaughter hid in a panic room in his home as a man, inspired by jihad, tried to kill him with an ax.

Molly Norris is in hiding because of the threat on her life

As “Everybody Draw Muhammad” spun out of control, Norris posted a YouTube video in which she explained the cartoon she drew that launched the event. She apologized to Muslims who were offended and urged viewers to call off the event. Yet her pleas got her nowhere, and so did her own true feelings. She followed up her video with yet an additional cartoon about the, Diet of Fear, joking about how if you make the Muslims made you’ll be scared to eat.

This threat from al-Awlaki has caused Norris to take down all her personal content and close her Facebook account. Her explanation of this event through a YouTube video has also been removed by her.
